Project Background

Your research will aim to conceive and design innovative solutions for monitoring health. Job Description

We expect you to:

  • Keep up to date with relevant literature to recognize new research opportunities.
  • Generate high-quality publications.
  • Regularly explore and present new ideas to Prof. Menon and the research group.
  • Independently plan, execute, and communicate about your research.
  • Manage small pilot studies requiring data collection.
  • Strengthen relationships with collaborators and explore new study initiatives.
  • Apply for ethics approvals as necessary.
  • Contribute actively to grant writing.
  • Train BSc/MSc students while helping the lab meet its research goals, adhering to protocols, and achieving targets.
  • Dedicate approximately 30% of your time to supporting teaching (BSc/MSc-level courses related to electric circuits and bio-signal processing) and managing resources.

You will be supervised academically by Prof. Dr. Carlo Menon at ETH Zurich. Prof. Menon has a strong publication record and has founded two startups. His group consists of imaginative innovators who leverage their expertise in materials science, engineering, computer science, and medicine to devise bold and creative solutions to real-world challenges. The lab, located at the Balgrist Campus, promotes collaboration through its open architecture designed for interdisciplinary research. Established in 2015, the facility houses rapid prototyping machines, exoskeletons, instrumented treadmills, MRI systems, CT scan machines, wet labs, and various characterization systems.
