The enhancement of endoscopic videos is a complex yet vital task in various clinical interventions, where imaging clarity is essential for procedural success. Due to challenging imaging conditions, the quality of endoscopic videos can often be compromised by various artifacts. This project aims to develop the next generation of enhancement algorithms tailored specifically for endoscopic videos, focusing on applications in real-time interventions. Development efforts will prioritize enhancement quality and computational efficiency, particularly regarding latency.
The successful candidate will join the Biomedical Image Computing (BMIC) team at ETH Zurich and will collaborate with the Computer Vision Lab (CVL). The project is conducted in partnership with an industrial implementation team, which will provide support for hardware and software integration.
