Your Tasks

  • Modify and instrument an existing thermal shock testing system to include a mechanical loading component equivalent to internal pressure.
  • Design and execute thermal shock laboratory experiments that replicate specific loading conditions as they may occur in a nuclear reactor pressure vessel.
  • Analyze and interpret the experiments within the framework of nuclear safety criteria as used in international standards, potentially including finite element analyses.
  • Publish results in scientific journals and present at international conferences.
  • Collaborate on other service tasks and international projects.

Your Profile

You hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (or a closely related field) and possess a solid background in mechanical testing of materials. Good English communication skills are essential, while knowledge of German is a definite advantage.
