Your Tasks
  • Modify and instrument an existing thermal shock testing system to include a mechanical loading component equivalent to internal pressure.
  • Design and execute thermal shock laboratory experiments that approximate specific loading conditions as they exist in a nuclear reactor pressure vessel.
  • Analyze and interpret the experimental results within the framework of nuclear safety criteria as outlined in international standards. This may include finite element analyses.
  • Publish results in scientific journals and present findings at international conferences.
  • Collaborate on other service tasks and international projects.

Your Profile

You hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field and possess a solid background in the mechanical testing of materials. Strong English communication skills are essential, and knowledge of German is a significant advantage.
