Your Tasks
Your work will focus on investigating the mechanisms of the electrochemical oxidation process (EOP) for the removal of emerging contaminants in water through the generation of hydroxyl radicals.
- Analyze reaction intermediates and products using a range of analytical chemistry techniques.
- Utilize advanced characterization methods, including synchrotron-based techniques, to investigate materials under operating conditions and establish design principles for next-generation EOP electrocatalysts.
- Engage in close collaboration with colleagues within the Electrochemistry Department, the Swiss Light Source, and international partners throughout your postdoctoral research.
Your Profile
- You hold a PhD in Physical Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline.
- You possess a strong background in electrochemistry and water purification through electrochemical oxidation processes.
- Experience with analytical techniques for water purification analysis is essential.
- Familiarity with spectroscopic techniques is considered an advantage.
- You have a strong interest in experimental work and proactively seek to develop new solutions.
- You can work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative and interdisciplinary research team.
- Excellent communication and scientific writing skills in English are required.
