Postdoctoral Fellow / Postdoctoral Fellowess in Catalytic Biomass Valorization

Your Tasks

  • Conduct innovative research in biomass-related catalysis, developing new catalysts, safeguarding materials, and reaction systems to convert biomass thermochemically into chemical energy carriers, platform chemicals, or high-value chemicals.
  • Acquire third-party funded projects focused on biomass conversion, catalysis, and biochemicals.
  • Perform physico-chemical analyses of catalysts and other solid samples (N2 adsorption, XRD, EM, TGA, XAS).
  • Initiate collaborations with other groups both within and outside of PSI.
  • Publish findings in scientific journals and present at international conferences and workshops.

Your Profile

  • PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Technical Chemistry, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent writing skills and fluent spoken English.
  • Self-organized with a focused working attitude.
  • Proven experience in safely operating and troubleshooting lab test rigs under elevated pressure and temperature is mandatory.
