Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join our Low-Energy Muons Group in the Laboratory for Muon Spin Spectroscopy.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop a beta-detected NMR (beta-NMR) spectrometer at ISOLDE / CERN.
  • Design a vacuum load-lock system for the beta-NMR spectrometer.
  • Conduct research in condensed matter physics and materials science using muon spin spectroscopy techniques (muSR) at PSI and beta-NMR at ISOLDE / CERN.
  • Actively participate in the development of the beta-NMR group at ISOLDE / CERN.
  • Engage in the MUONIVERSE collaboration.
  • Present research results through publications and contributions to scientific conferences.

Your Profile

  • PhD degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Extensive expertise in solid state physics and materials science, vacuum technology, and beta-NMR instrumentation.
  • Experience with beta-NMR and muSR techniques.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and capable of working effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
