Your Tasks
- Operate and further develop a complex ion trapping experiment based on the QCCD architecture with passive and active integrated photonics.
- Develop scalable approaches for controlling ions in a multi-zone trap array.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of experimental control systems, as well as optical and laser setups.
- Develop and implement protocols for quantum computing and quantum sensing experiments.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of PhD students, technicians, and engineers.
Your Profile
- PhD degree in Physics or a closely related field (ideally with experience in experimental ion trapping or neutral-atom optical tweezer platforms).
- Relevant peer-reviewed publications in the field.
- Demonstrated ability to design, operate, and troubleshoot complex quantum physics experiments.
- Highly motivated to advance quantum science and technology with an independent research profile.
- Hands-on experience in several of the following areas: optics and lasers; atomic physics; cryogenics and ultra-high vacuum systems; real-time control systems for quantum experiments; integrated photonics.
- Proficiency in data analysis and scientific documentation.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Experience with co-supervision of students.
