Your Tasks
Your work will focus on investigating the mechanisms of the electrochemical oxidation process (EOP) for the removal of emerging contaminants in water through the generation of hydroxyl radicals.
- Reaction intermediates and products will be analyzed using a variety of analytical chemistry techniques.
- Advanced characterization methods, including synchrotron-based techniques, will be utilized to explore materials under operating conditions and establish design principles for next-generation EOP electrocatalysts.
- During your postdoctoral position, you will closely collaborate with colleagues within the Electrochemistry Department, the Swiss Light Source, and international partners.
Your Profile
- You hold a PhD degree in Physical Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline.
- You possess a strong background and experience in electrochemistry and water purification through electrochemical oxidation processes.
- Experience with analytical techniques for water purification analysis is required.
- Knowledge of spectroscopic techniques is an advantage.
- You have a strong interest in experimental work and demonstrate initiative in developing innovative solutions.
- You are capable of working independently, while also contributing effectively to a collaborative and interdisciplinary research team.
- Excellent communication and scientific writing skills in English are required.
