You will work on the n2EDM experiment, searching for a neutron electric dipole moment, which may signal physics beyond the Standard Model. The apparatus is currently under commissioning at the ultracold neutron UCN source, providing you with the opportunity to engage with all aspects of the experiment.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing the mercury magnetometer system in all areas of operation, maintenance, and further development—both hardware and software. Additionally, you will participate in the initial data collection for the n2EDM experiment and contribute to the first analysis. Supervision of students at all levels will also be part of your role.
We are looking for a talented and ambitious individual who is highly motivated to contribute to this competitive project in fundamental physics, working within a well-established research team in a large international collaboration.
Our institution fosters an interdisciplinary, innovative, and dynamic collaboration. You will benefit from systematic on-the-job training, personal development opportunities, and a strong vocational training culture. We are committed to supporting you in balancing work with family life or other personal interests through our modern employment conditions and excellent on-site infrastructure.
Your employment contract will be limited to 2 years.
