You will be involved in the n2EDM experiment, which aims to investigate the neutron electric dipole moment—a potential signal of physics beyond the Standard Model. The apparatus is currently under commissioning at the ultracold neutron (UCN) source. In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage in all facets of the experiment, particularly focusing on the mercury magnetometer system, overseeing its operation, maintenance, and further development in both hardware and software. Additionally, you will partake in the inaugural data collection for the n2EDM experiment and contribute to the initial analysis, all while supervising students at various levels.
We are seeking a talented and ambitious individual who is highly motivated to contribute to this competitive project in fundamental physics, within a well-established research team that is part of a large international collaboration.
Our institution thrives on interdisciplinary, innovative, and dynamic collaboration. You will benefit from systematic on-the-job training, along with personal development opportunities and a strong vocational training culture. We are committed to helping you balance work and family life or other personal interests, supported by our modern employment conditions and on-site infrastructure.
Your employment contract will be limited to 2 years.
