The Stroke Research Center in Bern is recognized as one of the leading institutions in clinical stroke research worldwide. Our high international visibility stems from three decades of translational research that ranges from hypothesis-generating observational studies to guideline-changing international randomized controlled trials.
Our research center functions as an interdisciplinary network, bringing together expertise in neurology, neurosurgery, and neuroradiology. We are committed to advancing clinical stroke research with robust collaborations across neighboring specialties, including cardiology, intensive care medicine, and emergency medicine.
What You Can Expect
We are currently seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral clinical research fellow to lead patient-oriented research projects in the field of stroke medicine. The position will particularly focus on intracerebral hemorrhage, cardioembolic stroke, and the management of anticoagulation in stroke patients.
Your Responsibilities
- Screening, enrolment, and follow-up of patients in ongoing clinical research projects
- Maintaining and updating the stroke registry to ensure accurate and high-quality data entry
- Collaborating closely within a multidisciplinary research team, including neurologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists, emergency/intensive care specialists, nurses, and coordinators
- Possibility to design and conduct your own research projects with mentorship and support from senior investigators
- Engaging with international collaborators and stroke research networks
Your Profile
- Medical degree (MD), with clinical experience in neurology or stroke preferred
- Proven interest in cerebrovascular medicine (prior publications optional)
- Strong sense of responsibility, motivation, and commitment to team-based research
- A transparent, organized, and independent work ethic
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in both German and English (minimum B2)
