Principal Responsibilities

The successful candidate will take on a pivotal role in our investment strategy, including the following key responsibilities:

  • Propose investment opportunities to the Senior Portfolio Manager.
  • Autonomously manage Global Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) focused investment portfolios.
  • Serve as the lead analyst on Global Telecoms, Global Media, and the US Internet sectors.
  • Interface with sell-side research, industry participants, and company representatives to screen investment ideas and manage information flow.
  • Review and analyze research materials on companies, sectors, and economic trends.
  • Perform comprehensive industry and sector analyses.
  • Monitor market dynamics and trends.
  • Gather market data and prepare analytical screens to track and assess trends in stocks.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement timely market opportunities and trading strategies to enhance profitability.

Qualifications/Skills Required

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in an analytical subject (e.g., Accounting and Finance).
  • Essential experience working in a global buy-side investment firm.
  • Prior experience and a proven track record in managing equity long/short strategies in a market-neutral environment.
  • Extensive experience in trading Global TMT Equities is a must.
  • Advanced financial modeling and data analysis skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in advanced Bloomberg functions is preferred.
  • CFA qualification is preferred.
  • Essential buy-side experience managing investment portfolios.
  • Experience in autonomously building and managing risk analysis tools for portfolio optimization is crucial.
  • Ability to quickly learn, pay attention to detail, demonstrate thoroughness, and take ownership of work.
  • Adept at prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and constantly changing environment.
  • Possess a high sense of urgency.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
