Portfolio and Operations Change Manager

Change Management / CPL / TRU / L&D / English

Advances in AI, data, and computational sciences are significantly transforming drug discovery and development. Roche’s Research and Early Development organizations at Genentech (gRED) and Pharma (pRED) have showcased how these technologies enhance R&D efforts by leveraging data and novel computational models to create impactful solutions. Seamless data sharing and access to models across gRED and pRED are essential to maximizing these opportunities.

The new Computational Sciences Center of Excellence (CS-CoE) is a strategic and unified group dedicated to harnessing the transformative power of data and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Our goal is to assist scientists in both pRED and gRED in delivering more innovative and transformative medicines for patients worldwide. Within the CoE organization, the Portfolio & Operations team organizes and drives CoE core operations, portfolio strategy & management, administration, budget planning, vendor management, and informatics operations, including the management of cloud & software spend. This team serves as both the strategic catalyst and operational backbone for the CoE, enabling business performance, transparency, and accountability.

We are seeking an experienced Change Management Lead to drive the adoption and implementation of five top-priority operational initiatives. This role is critical in transitioning the CoE from fragmented, manual legacy processes to a unified, scalable "One Source of Truth" model.

The Perfect Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Change and Project Manager (Bachelor’s degree or higher; CCMP/Prosci or PMP/Agile preferred) with 3–5 years of experience in Healthcare Life Sciences. You will have a proven track record in managing large-scale transformation projects and possess exceptional communication skills, enabling you to translate complex changes into clear, actionable messages. You will be a strategic thinker who develops ideas independently and drives operational execution. Additionally, you should be agile, organized, and skilled at managing multiple simultaneous workstreams. Fluency in English and readiness for international assignments are a must.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • CPL (Contracts, Procurement & Licensing): Transitioning to a centralized project intake tool and standardized contract workflows.
  • TRU (Transparency of Resource Utilisation): Implementing new CoE time reporting and financial WBS strategy.
  • L&D (Compliance & Learning Management): Deploying a global CoE training matrix and automated system-based training.
  • FinOps (Cloud Management): Establishing integrated cloud governance and unified financial frameworks.
  • DOG (Deployment of Operational Guidelines): Launching a centralized "Policy Hub" for all CS CoE policies.
  • Change Strategy & Planning: Creating tailored change management roadmaps for each of the five initiatives, ensuring alignment with the broader P&O Operations vision.
  • Communication Material Development: Designing and producing high-impact communication materials, including executive read-outs, global announcements, and process Hub content.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Navigating complex stakeholder dynamics across the CS COE to build consensus and ensure regional readiness for global standards.
  • Training & Adoption Support: Partnering with the L&D and DOG leads to ensure effective deployment and understanding of end-user training and operational guidelines.
  • KPI Tracking: Refining and tracking success metrics related to user adoption and process standardization to demonstrate measurable impact.

Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher; specialized certification in Change Management (e.g., CCMP, Prosci) or Project Management (PMP, Agile) is highly preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Healthcare Life Sciences (HCLS) with a proven track record of managing change for large-scale operational transformations.
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex operational changes into clear, actionable, and persuasive materials for diverse audiences.
  • A strategic thinker capable of moving between high-level strategy and tactical execution of change assets.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and managing multiple simultaneous workstreams with precision.
  • Fluency in English is a must.
