Portfolio and Operations Change Manager

Department: Change Management / CPL / TRU / L&D / English

Background

Advances in AI, data, and computational sciences are revolutionizing drug discovery and development. Roche’s Research and Early Development organisations at Genentech (gRED) and Pharma (pRED) have illustrated how these technologies can accelerate R&D, leveraging data and innovative computational models to create significant impact. Seamless data sharing and access to models across gRED and pRED are vital for maximizing these opportunities. The new Computational Sciences Center of Excellence (CS-CoE) is a strategically unified group committed to harnessing the transformative power of data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assist scientists in both pRED and gRED, ultimately delivering more innovative and transformative medicines to patients worldwide.

Within the CoE organization, the Portfolio & Operations team drives core operations, portfolio strategy and management, administration, budget planning, vendor management, and procurement interactions. This team serves as both the strategic catalyst and operational backbone for the CoE, enhancing business performance, transparency, and accountability. We are currently seeking an experienced Change Management Lead to champion the adoption and implementation of five pivotal operational initiatives, transitioning the CoE from fragmented, manual legacy processes to a unified, scalable "One Source of Truth" model.

The Perfect Candidate

We are looking for an experienced Change and Project Manager (Bachelor’s degree or higher, CCMP/Prosci or PMP/Agile preferred) with 3–5 years of experience in Healthcare Life Sciences. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale transformation projects, exhibit exceptional communication skills, and possess the ability to translate complex changes into clear, actionable messages. As a strategic thinker, you will independently develop ideas and drive operational execution. Being agile, organized, and proficient in managing multiple workstreams simultaneously is essential. Fluency in English and readiness for international assignments are required.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • CPL (Contracts, Procurement & Licensing): Transitioning to a centralized project intake tool and standardized contract workflows.
  • TRU (Transparency of Resource Utilisation): Implementing new CoE time reporting and financial WBS strategy.
  • L&D (Compliance & Learning Management): Deploying a global CoE training matrix and automated system-based training.
  • FinOps (Cloud Management): Establishing integrated cloud governance and unified financial frameworks.
  • DOG (Deployment of Operational Guidelines): Launching a centralized "Policy Hub" for all CS CoE policies.
  • Change Strategy & Planning: Create tailored change management roadmaps for each of the five initiatives, ensuring alignment with the broader P&O Operations vision.
  • Communication Material Development: Design and produce high-impact communication materials, including executive read-outs, global announcements, and process Hub content.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Navigate complex stakeholder dynamics across the CS COE and build consensus while ensuring regional readiness for global standards.
  • Training & Adoption Support: Partner with the L&D and DOG leads to ensure end-user training and operational guidelines are effectively deployed and understood.
  • KPI Tracking: Refine and track success metrics related to user adoption and process standardization to demonstrate measurable impact.

Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or more advanced training; specialized certification in Change Management (e.g., CCMP, Prosci) or Project Management (PMP, Agile) is highly preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Healthcare Life Sciences (HCLS). Proven track record of managing change for large-scale operational transformations.
  • Exceptional communication skills: Ability to translate complex operational changes into clear, actionable, and persuasive materials for diverse audiences.
  • Strategic Execution: A strategic thinker who can seamlessly move between high-level strategy and the tactical creation of change assets.
  • Agility: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and managing multiple simultaneous workstreams with precision.
  • Fluency in English is a must.
