PLC PROGRAMMER / AUTOMATION ENGINEER (ALL GENDERS)

SHAPE THE FUTURE OF BIOPROCESS AUTOMATION

As part of our multidisciplinary R&D team, you will design and develop automation software solutions that drive the next generation of bioprocess automation products. You will take ownership of software architecture and implementation across PLC and HMI, creating maintainable, scalable, and reusable solutions with a strong emphasis on quality and long-term sustainability. Collaborating closely with scientists and engineering experts from various disciplines, you will help shape innovative products, introduce modern development practices, and elevate technical excellence from concept to release.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Design and develop maintainable, scalable, and reusable automation software solutions in Structured Text (IEC 61131-3), with a strong focus on quality, testing, validation, and long-term sustainability.
  • Collaborate with automation engineers, scientists, mechanical engineers, and electrical engineers to develop robust automation concepts and translate requirements into effective solutions.
  • Create intuitive and modern HMIs in close collaboration with our UX/UI designer.
  • Configure automation hardware, support system integration, and perform commissioning activities.
  • Investigate complex technical challenges, conduct root-cause analysis, and drive sustainable solutions.
  • Prepare technical specifications and actively contribute to system and software architecture decisions.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Completed technical education in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field (HF/FH, University), or equivalent hands-on experience with a proven track record in PLC programming.
  • Solid experience in PLC programming, ideally in Structured Text (IEC 61131-3).
  • Experience with Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC.
  • Familiarity with mechatronics systems and process control is a plus.
  • Keen understanding of version control systems such as Git and software development best practices.
  • Strong analytical thinking and excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Structured, self-driven, and solution-oriented approach to work.
  • Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a significant advantage.
  • Experience in bioprocess automation and project management is an advantage.
  • Candidates must have the legal right to work in Switzerland. Please indicate your current work authorization status.
