Your Responsibilities
Acquire and deepen knowledge in the theory and methods of linguistic evolution, particularly using probabilistic programming languages such as Stan to develop explicit quantitative models.
Lead the development of at least three publishable papers in collaboration with supervisors and other team members.
Submit a dissertation that integrates these papers with a comprehensive review of the state of the art.
Actively participate in lab meetings, NCCR events, and journal clubs.
Your Profile
Trained in historical and typological linguistics with a solid foundation in statistics and data wrangling.
Familiarity with Bayesian approaches and/or phylogenetic comparative methods is an advantage.
A keen interest in related fields, particularly neurolinguistics and human population genetics.
Excellent communication skills in English.
