The Membrane and Interfacial Science Lab in the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering (D-MAVT) at ETH Zürich is at the forefront of designing materials and processes that promote energy-efficient and sustainable separations. Our research focuses on innovative membrane technologies, which hold the potential for transformative advancements in carbon capture, gas separations, and water purification. Members of our team engage in work related to membrane synthesis, experimental characterization, and transport modeling.
The doctoral student will undertake research on next-generation membrane processes, with tasks that may include:
This role provides the student with the opportunity to develop their doctoral research in collaboration with the supervisor, Prof. Anthony Straub. The project will involve interfacing with NCCR Separations and collaborating with world-leading experts in the fields of separations, sustainability, and materials.
