We are thrilled to announce a fully funded PhD position at the Chair of Strategic Management and Innovation (SMI), ETH Zurich. This role is part of a SNSF-funded research project focusing on the transformative role of artificial intelligence in strategy, exploring how AI can support and enhance strategic processes in organizations.

Job Description

The Chair of Strategic Management and Innovation offers an inspiring, collaborative research environment featuring a dynamic and international group of researchers. Our team boasts a strong record of publications in prestigious journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Management Science, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, and Harvard Business Review.

As a PhD candidate, you will embark on a dissertation project that typically includes at least three high-quality papers intended for top-tier journals. You will benefit from close supervision and collaboration with esteemed faculty and senior researchers, along with access to ETH Zurich's exceptional research infrastructure and extensive international network of collaborators.

Profile

Inclusion Criteria:

• Master's degree in Management or a related discipline (e.g., Management Engineering, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Economics with a management focus)
• Graduation not older than two years at the time of application
• Proficiency in German (spoken and written)
• Proven track record of strong academic performance
• Outstanding performance in the Master's thesis or comparable proof of research potential
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams

Additional Qualifications Considered an Advantage:

• Knowledge or practical experience with AI, particularly in business or organizational contexts
• Previous consulting or industry experience in strategy or management
