The PhD student will conduct a series of experiments involving microbial predator-prey communities under controlled laboratory conditions utilizing a 3D tracking system. This advanced system enables high-resolution, high-throughput measurements of individual behavior and functional responses. The data collected will be essential for testing hypotheses that explain variations in functional response shapes and will aid in parameterizing a model that links functional responses to underlying movement behaviors, in collaboration with partners at the University of Amsterdam. The role involves frequent visits and exchanges between UZH and the University of Amsterdam.
