Your Responsibilities
- Acquire and deepen knowledge in the theory and methods of linguistic evolution, particularly using probabilistic programming languages such as Stan to develop explicit quantitative models.
- Lead the development of at least three publishable papers in collaboration with supervisors and other team members.
- Submit a dissertation that integrates these papers along with a comprehensive review of the state of the art.
- Actively participate in lab meetings, NCCR events, and journal clubs.
Your Profile
- Trained in historical and typological linguistics.
- Familiar with the fundamentals of statistics and data manipulation.
- Knowledge of Bayesian approaches and/or phylogenetic comparative methods is a plus.
- Possess a keen interest in related fields, particularly neurolinguistics and human population genetics.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
