Your Responsibilities
- The PhD student will conduct independent research in the wide-ranging fields of democracy studies and/or public governance, with a special emphasis on Switzerland and its direct democratic system.
- The PhD candidate will be enrolled in the Department's Doctoral Programme in Democracy Studies, which offers advanced methodological and substantive training.
- Contributions to teaching in Swiss politics, empirical research on democracy, or public governance (2 hours per week) are expected, along with advising BA and MA students and engaging in some administrative tasks.
- Collaboration in ongoing research projects within the research group and the Centre for Democracy Studies is encouraged.
Your Profile
- The ideal candidate should possess an MA/MSc in Political Science or Public Administration, along with strong training in research methods.
- Proficiency in both English and German is required; knowledge of French is an added advantage.
- A genuine interest in academic research and a motivation to pursue an academic career are essential.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting is necessary.
