Your Responsibilities
- The PhD student will conduct independent research in the broad field of democracy studies and/or public governance, focusing specifically on Switzerland's direct democratic polity.
- Enrollment in the Department's Doctoral Programme in Democracy Studies, which offers advanced methodological and substantive training.
- Contribute to teaching in the areas of Swiss politics, empirical research on democracy, or public governance (2 hours per week).
- Advise BA and MA students and assist with some administrative tasks.
- Collaborate on research projects within the research group and the Centre for Democracy Studies.
Your Profile
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- A Master’s degree (MA/MSc) in Political Science or Public Administration.
- Strong methodological training.
- Fluency in both English and German (knowledge of French is an asset).
- A keen interest in academic research and a motivation to pursue an academic career.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
