We investigate mechanisms of protein trafficking, focusing on secretion and endocytosis, using protists as experimental models. Our group employs a diverse range of methods and approaches, including:

  • In silico structural modeling

Your Profile

We are seeking an enthusiastic graduate student for a PhD project as part of an international collaboration (Switzerland, UK, Czech Republic, Sweden) funded by an SNSF-WEAVE grant. This project aims to explore adaptations to parasitism through comparative spatial proteomics.

We Offer

The successful applicant will join a small and vibrant research team, becoming part of a broader collaborative effort involving three additional groups with complementary expertise across Europe. As a graduate student in our group, you will also be part of the Graduate School for Cellular and Biomedical Sciences (GCB) at the University of Bern. We welcome all candidates who meet the requirements for graduate studies, including a minimum MSc degree in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or equivalent.
