PhD Position Focused on Electrocatalysis

100%, Zurich, fixed-term

Our group explores how electrolyte environments influence reaction kinetics and product selectivity in the electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) and related electrocatalytic processes. We place a strong emphasis on mechanistic insights and employ advanced in-situ characterization techniques (e.g., FTIR, Raman, DEMS, EQCM, GC) coupled with detailed electrochemical studies. We are seeking a PhD researcher to contribute and grow within these efforts.

Job Description

Profile

  • You should have a recent Master's degree (or be close to its completion) in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical or Process Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • We are looking for candidates who are self-driven, highly motivated, creative, and excited to work in an interdisciplinary team, with a passion for contributing to solutions in the global energy landscape.
  • While we welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds, prior experience in the following areas is a plus:
    • Catalysis and/or electrochemistry
    • Synchrotron facilities and/or other in-situ characterization techniques
