Position: Partnerships Coordinator (80%)
We are seeking a Partnerships Coordinator to join our Zurich office starting in September 2025 (or upon agreement). This role focuses on attracting and retaining major donors in the German and French-speaking regions of Switzerland, concentrating primarily on institutions and some foundations.
Your Role
As a Partnerships Coordinator within a dynamic team of 20 dedicated individuals, you will collaborate with three other team members in the Partnerships Team. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing professional relationships with existing institutions and foundations to ensure long-term engagement and financial support.
- Preparing and developing high-quality reports in accordance with donor requirements, in close cooperation with the program department.
- Identifying new opportunities from institutions and foundations in both German- and French-speaking Switzerland and reaching out proactively through phone calls and emails.
- Developing successful funding proposals aligned with organizational priorities and donor preferences.
- Securing new grants and nurturing relationships with donors through meetings, calls, and networking.
- Supporting due diligence processes and handling other administrative tasks related to grant and partnership management.
Your Profile
This position is ideal for a professional with strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities who seeks to gain experience in partnership management. You thrive in a dynamic international environment and are motivated to contribute to a meaningful cause. You should possess a mix of technical, interpersonal, and organizational skills, along with at least 3 years of experience in one of the following areas: partner/client management (preferably with institutional donors such as cantons, municipalities, and federal institutions like the SDC), fundraising, business development, or a closely related field.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (international development, business administration, or a related field).
- Native German proficiency, with good French skills and strong English capabilities.
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and relationship management skills.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Solid research capabilities, particularly in identifying institutional donor opportunities in Switzerland.
- Familiarity with public-sector donors and their funding procedures in Switzerland (e.g., SDC, cantonal, and municipal authorities), including reporting requirements.
- Experience in preparing proposals, budgets, and reports for public/institutional donors.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge of fundraising platforms.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and international team.
- Advanced formatting and document presentation skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
