As a member of our research group, you will investigate the impact of demography on the evolution and diffusion of languages and other cultural traits. This project will involve modeling and analyzing large datasets, including newly generated genomes. You will have the unique opportunity to participate in sample collection in Africa and engage in the development of innovative approaches to study the interplay between genetic and linguistic evolution.
We are looking for a student with a strong background in population genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, or related fields, alongside an interest in linguistic and cultural evolution. Proficient communication skills in English are essential.
