Job Description: Holistic Care for Private Individual
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated professional to provide holistic, evidence-based care to a private individual. The individual requires assistance due to a diagnosis of dementia, age-related frailties, and other health co-morbidities that may arise. The care must be delivered in a positive, person-centered manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, develop, and implement programs of care; provide advice; and maintain associated records either manually or digitally.
- Carry out nursing procedures as required, adhering to clinical guidelines.
- Provide clinical supervision to other staff members.
- Direct, coordinate, and supervise the work of other staff to promote best practices in dementia care.
- In the absence of the team leader, cover responsibilities to ensure effective delivery of care.
- Raise any issues with the line manager as necessary.
Qualifications / Essential Requirements
- Swiss or EU passport (or holder of a Swiss work permit).
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration or European/Swiss equivalent.
- Nursing degree or equivalent.
- Completion of Best Practice in Dementia Training or willingness to undertake it.
- Willingness to participate in specific dementia training, delivered in English.
- Additional qualifications related to dementia care, such as stress and distress training, meaningful activity, Sage and Thyme.
- Understanding of the Newcastle Model and/or PINCHME model of behavior assessment.
- Willingness to engage in continuous professional development (CPD) regarding dementia.
- Specialist dementia qualification or relevant studies in related areas.
- Good knowledge of non-pharmacological interventions and strategies.
- Experience in End of Life Care, with relevant clinical skills to address developing co-morbidities.
Qualifications / Additional Requirements
- Moving and Handling Trainer certification.
- Experience in Beauty/Massage Therapy.
- Background in facilitating Meaningful Activities.
Language / Essential
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, ideally as a first language.
- Excellent written communication skills in English.
- Local dialect knowledge relevant to the client – Central Scotland.
- Understanding that language and communication deficits in dementia can impact quality of life, emphasizing the need for effective communication.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years' experience working with people who have dementia.

- Able to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Basic technological proficiency.
- Teaching skills for junior staff, family members, and other professionals.

Specific Job Requirements
- Commitment to work a shift pattern based in Buckinghamshire, UK, and Switzerland for extended periods (preferably 10-14 days).
- Availability to accommodate unsociable hours, including a sleepover arrangement alternating nights with another staff member.
- Potentially accompany the client to and from various venues as part of duties.
- Conduct oneself in a manner appropriate to the client’s social standing.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with NMC requirements and organizational policies; a confidentiality agreement will be provided.
- Understanding the local culture related to the client and family to minimize stress and distress associated with dementia.
- Housekeeping duties are also an essential part of this role.
