Job Opportunity: Holistic Care Provider for Individual with Dementia
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated professional to provide holistic, evidence-based care to a private individual, addressing all her needs in a positive, person-centred manner. The client's current needs include a diagnosis of dementia, age-related frailties, and any additional health co-morbidities that may arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, develop, and implement individualized care programs; provide advice, and maintain associated records either manually or digitally.
- Carry out nursing procedures in accordance with clinical guidelines.
- Provide clinical supervision to other staff members.
The successful candidate will also direct, coordinate, and supervise the work of other staff to promote best practices in the care of the client with dementia. In the absence of the team leader, the incumbent will ensure effective delivery of care to the client and will be responsible for raising any issues with the line manager.
Qualifications / Essential Requirements
- Swiss or EU passport (or Swiss working permit holder).
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration or European/Swiss equivalent.
- Nursing degree or equivalent qualification.
- Completion or progression towards Best Practice in Dementia Training.
- Willingness to undergo specific dementia training, i.e., Best Practice in Dementia Care, delivered in English.
- Additional qualifications related to dementia topics, including stress and distress training, meaningful activity, Sage and Thyme.
- Understanding of the Newcastle Model and/or PINCHME model of behavior assessment.
- Willingness to develop dementia knowledge as part of CPD, either independently or through the organization.
- Specialist dementia qualification or additional studies in related areas.
- Understanding behavior as a communication tool and strong knowledge of non-pharmacological interventions and strategies.
- Experience in End of Life Care and ability to address developing co-morbidities.
Qualifications / Additional Requirements
- Moving and Handling Trainer.
- Beauty/Massage Therapy background.
- Skills in facilitating meaningful activity.
Language / Essential
- Effective communication skills in English; ideally native proficiency.
- Excellent written communication abilities in English.
- Understanding local dialect specific to Central Scotland is preferred.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with individuals with dementia is required.

- Female gender is required for this position.
Specific Job Requirements
- Commitment to working a shift pattern in Buckinghamshire, UK, and Switzerland for extended periods (preferably 10-14 days).
- Availability for unsociable hours, including sleepover arrangements alternating with another staff member during shifts.
- Ability to accompany the client to and from various venues as part of the duties.
- Professional demeanor appropriate to the social standing of the client.
- Confidentiality must be maintained in line with NMC and organizational requirements; a confidentiality agreement will be provided separately.
- Understanding and awareness of the culture local to the client and family as dementia progresses, to minimize stress and distress.
- Housekeeping responsibilities are also a key aspect of this position.
