Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated professional to provide holistic, evidence-based care tailored to the unique needs of a private individual. This position focuses on delivering positive, person-centered support, specifically for a client diagnosed with dementia and age-related frailties, along with any other arising health conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, develop, and implement individualized care programs; provide advice and maintain records manually or digitally.
- Carry out nursing procedures in accordance with clinical guidelines.
- Provide clinical supervision to other staff members.
- Direct, coordinate, and supervise the work of other staff to promote best practices in dementia care.
- In the absence of the team leader, cover responsibilities to ensure effective service delivery; any issues should be addressed with the line manager.
Qualifications / Essential Requirements
- Swiss or EU passport holder (or Swiss working permit holder).
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration or equivalent from Europe/Switzerland.
- Nursing degree or equivalent qualification.
- Completion of Best Practice in Dementia Training or willingness to undertake this training.
- Willingness to undergo specific dementia training delivered in English.
- Additional qualifications related to dementia topics, including stress and distress training, meaningful activity, Sage and Thyme methodologies.
- Understanding of the Newcastle Model and/or PINCHME model of behavior assessment.
- Commitment to ongoing dementia education as part of professional development.
- Specialist dementia qualifications or studies in related fields.
- Ability to understand behavior as a form of communication and familiarity with non-pharmacological interventions and strategies.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with individuals with dementia.
Qualifications / Additional Requirements
- Training in Moving and Handling.
- Skills in Beauty or Massage Therapy.
- Experience in facilitating Meaningful Activity.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English, with excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate in the local dialect of Central Scotland is preferable.
- As dementia affects the language centers of the brain, effective communication is critical to enhance the quality of life and reduce stress for the client.

- Demonstrate excellent teamwork capabilities and the ability to work independently.
- Possess effective listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong time management skills.
- Basic technological proficiency.
- Teaching skills for mentoring junior staff, family members, and other professionals.
- Preference for female candidates.
Specific Job Requirements
- Commitment to a shift pattern in Buckinghamshire, UK, and Switzerland for extended periods (preferably 10-14 days).
- Availability for unsociable hours, including sleepover arrangements alternating nights with another staff member.
- Willingness to accompany the client to various venues as part of job duties.
- Ability to present oneself professionally in alignment with the client's social standing.
- Maintain confidentiality as per NMC requirements and organizational policies; a confidentiality agreement will be provided separately.
- Understanding of the client's culture and family dynamics, as increased awareness can mitigate stress and distress.
- Incorporate housekeeping responsibilities into the position.
