Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to provide holistic, evidence-based care to an individual with a diagnosis of dementia and age-related frailties. The care provided will focus on a positive, person-centered approach, addressing her diverse needs as they arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, develop, and implement individualized care programs; provide advice and maintain accurate records both manually and digitally.
- Conduct nursing procedures in accordance with clinical guidelines.
- Offer clinical supervision and guidance to other staff members to ensure the highest standards of care.
- Direct, coordinate, and supervise the work of other staff to promote best practices in dementia care.
- In the absence of the team leader, provide coverage to ensure the effective delivery of care.
- Promptly raise any issues with the line manager.
Qualifications / Essential Requirements
- Swiss or EU passport (or Swiss working permit holder).
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration or a European/Swiss equivalent.
- Nursing degree or equivalent qualification.
- Completion of Best Practice in Dementia training or willingness to undertake this training.
- Willingness to engage in specific dementia training delivered in English.
- Additional qualifications in relation to dementia, including stress and distress training, meaningful activity, and Sage and Thyme model.
- Understanding of the Newcastle Model and/or PINCHME model of behavior assessment.
- Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) in dementia care, either independently or through organizational support.
- Specialist dementia qualifications or relevant studies in related areas.
- Ability to interpret behavior as communication and knowledge of non-pharmacological strategies.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with individuals with dementia.
Language / Essential Skills
- Proficiency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with the local dialect of Central Scotland is beneficial.
- Understanding of the impact of dementia on communication, with a commitment to supporting quality of life for individuals with dementia.

- Female gender is preferred for this position.
Specific Job Requirements
- Availability to commit to a shift pattern based in Buckinghamshire, UK, and Switzerland for extended periods (ideally 10-14 days).
- Willingness to travel with the client within the UK.
- Ability to accommodate unsociable hours, which may include a sleepover arrangement with another staff member.
- Capability to accompany the client to various venues as part of the role.
- Professional conduct that reflects the social standing of the client.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times in accordance with NMC requirements and organizational policies; a confidentiality agreement will be provided separately.
- A deep understanding of the culture significant to the client and family to navigate the challenges of dementia effectively.
- Housekeeping duties are also an essential aspect of this role.
