Founded in 2019, Transmutex aims to reinvent nuclear energy, medicine, and waste recycling through an accelerator-driven system (ADS) designed to optimize the transmutation of long-lived nuclear waste. Our innovative approach combines particle accelerators with Thorium fuel derived from existing long-lived radioactive waste, enabling the generation of intrinsically safe energy while addressing the stockpile of long-lived waste in a proliferation-resistant manner.
We are seeking a qualified and skilled reactor physicist to contribute to the core design development of our advanced fast reactor system. The role will involve performing neutronics and reactor physics calculations and analyses for the subcritical lead-cooled fast reactor. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience and a strong track record in neutron transport calculations, utilizing well-benchmarked codes for fast reactors such as SERPENT2 and MCNP6. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing and analyzing the reactor core, collaborating with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams to achieve a safe, efficient, and sustainable core design based on the closed Thorium fuel cycle.
