Network Engineer (Connectivity Solutions) - 12 Months+ Contract - Malaysia - Remote

RED is excited to announce a new contract opportunity for a Network Engineer (Connectivity Solutions) to join one of our key partners, contributing to a global connectivity and network operations program. This initial contract is set for 12 months, with the potential for further extensions based on project requirements. The position is remote, allowing for flexibility in your work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and manage SD-WAN environments, particularly VMware Velocloud.
• Handle enterprise-level LAN, WAN, routing, switching, Wi-Fi, VPN, and NAC technologies.
• Troubleshoot and operate in large-scale global network environments that span offices, retail stores, warehouses, and remote users.
• Support ISP circuits, remote access services, and hybrid connectivity environments.
• Oversee incident management, including L2/L3 troubleshooting, major incidents (P1), RCA documentation, and vendor escalation.
• Utilize network monitoring and observability tools including SNMP, APIs, and log-based monitoring.
• Implement network security best practices, configuration hardening, patch management, and firmware lifecycle management.
• Work with Zscaler technologies (ZIA, ZPA, and/or ZCC) and Zero Trust access models.
• Administer network platforms such as DHCP, Radius, Wi-Fi controllers, and SD-WAN orchestrators.
• Collaborate in global, follow-the-sun, or 24/7 operational support environments.
• Participate in network automation, templates, standardization, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Engage directly with ISPs, carriers, and third-party technology vendors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Network Engineering, Network Operations, or Connectivity-focused roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with SD-WAN technologies, preferably VMware Velocloud.
• Proficient in enterprise LAN, WAN, routing, switching, Wi-Fi, VPN, and NAC technologies.
• Relevant experience in incident management and troubleshooting within large-scale networks.
• Familiarity with network security best practices and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, VMware SD-WAN (Velocloud), or Zscaler certifications are highly desirable.
• Able to join within a short notice period.
• Candidates must be located within Malaysia.
