Position: Head of Office / Municipal Clerk

We are currently seeking an inspiring and competent Head of Office / Municipal Clerk to report directly to the mayor. In this pivotal role, you will lead the municipal office, overseeing the following areas:

  • Office Services
  • Resident Services
  • Social Affairs
  • Libraries
  • Legal Services

With a total of 18 staff members, you will be responsible for planning and supporting the activities of the municipal executive board, the municipal council, and the assembly. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and following up on meetings
  • Taking minutes
  • Editing messages, proposals, and resolutions
  • Ensuring legally secure processing of municipal matters alongside the legal service
  • Managing elections and votes
  • Overseeing official publications and the municipal archive
  • Facilitating various approval and service processes

Moreover, you will focus on the continual development of the office, optimizing processes, advancing digitization, and participating in cross-departmental projects.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a strong educational background and training in public administration, municipal clerk sciences, public management, law, or business administration. Several years of leadership experience in a municipal administration, municipal office, presidential area, legal service, or a comparable position are essential. Additionally, a solid understanding of administrative and municipal law, confidence in dealing with political authorities, and an excellent command of the German language are required.
