Responsibilities

• Implement, document, and maintain software for system-level modeling of serial communication links in MATLAB, Python, and C++.
• Collaborate closely with system architects to budget the link and define block-level specs of the transceiver.
• Work alongside analog, digital, and verification teams to support the design and verification process.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of control theory and digital algorithms.
• Proven skills in implementing signal-processing algorithms.
• Understanding of the components of a digital communication link and factors affecting link performance (familiarity with SerDes link components and clock recovery circuits is a plus).
• Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: C++, MATLAB, or Python/NumPy.
• Familiarity with git version control systems and fundamental software engineering practices (unit testing, profiling, etc.).
• Experience with analog circuit simulators (SPICE/SPECTRE).
• Understanding of signal integrity principles.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor, telecommunications, or mathematical/scientific software industry.
• Experience in system-level simulation of digital communication systems (experience with SerDes links is a plus).
• Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.

Education

Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Communication Systems, or Computer Science (equivalent or higher) with a strong background in Signal Processing and a good understanding of Circuit Theory.
