Your Mission
Job Description
- Process Modeling: Develop dynamic process models for our DAC technology to enhance the productivity, efficiency, and reliability of current and future DAC plants.
- Model Management: Maintain and version-control the developed models to ensure their accuracy and applicability.
- Community Building: Structure and coordinate an informal group of model users across different teams to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Collaboration: Work closely with experimentalists, data scientists, and adsorption specialists to innovate novel adsorption process concepts. Manage external partnerships to accelerate model development and complement Climeworks' R&D activities.
- Contribution to IP: Generate innovative ideas to enhance Climeworks' intellectual property portfolio, staying informed of relevant developments in the field and providing competitive assessments.
Your Story
Requirements
- Educational Background: Hold at least an MSc in mechanical, chemical, or process engineering with 2-3 years of experience, or a PhD in a relevant field with up to 3 years of experience.
- Technical Expertise: Possess strong skills in numerical simulations and chemical process modeling with a focus on enhancing DAC plants’ productivity and reliability. Expertise in batch adsorption processes modeling is preferred.
- Mindset: Be pragmatic, collaborative, and creative in your problem-solving approach.
- Language Skills and Mobility: Fluent in English and willing to travel occasionally.

At Climeworks, salary ranges are determined by the level of seniority and the local market median for similar positions according to external benchmark surveys. Individual compensation will be based on your skills, experience, and the value you bring to our team.
Formalities
This position is based in Opfikon, Zurich, with a requirement to work onsite at least three days per week. The flexibility indicated in the job title allows you to choose between full-time or part-time arrangements.
