Position Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and knowledgeable Associate Director - Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specializing in cardiovascular medicine within Johnson & Johnson MedTech Electrophysiology. In this pivotal role, you will drive key initiatives in KOL engagement, advisory boards, research, publications, medical education, and field intelligence between our Scientific Affairs team and the surgical community.

This role requires a combination of commercial acumen and a solid understanding of Medical Affairs/Clinical Affairs. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and nurturing strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals.
  • Identifying unmet needs and scientific gaps in medical research and clinical practice paradigms.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with internal partners to deliver field and medical insights.
  • Participation and/or leadership of special projects, including voice of customer events, physician-initiated clinical study conversations, internal/external education, and publication planning/execution.
  • Maintaining thorough knowledge of our product platforms and current literature in cardiac electrophysiology and structural heart.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of strategic engagement plans to establish and maintain relationships with KOLs, surgeons, operating room staff, and relevant medical societies in the cardiac ablation field.
  • Act as a scientific authority in cardiac electrophysiology, providing medical and scientific education to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Clinical Affairs, Marketing, Scientific Affairs, and Research & Development, to provide scientific input and insights.
  • Effectively communicate complex scientific information to healthcare professionals to enhance understanding of our cardiac ablation and diagnostic platforms.
  • Stay updated with the latest scientific research and emerging trends to provide insights and guidance.
  • Prepare materials for presentations and participate in scientific symposia, conferences, and educational programs.
  • Support clinical studies and research initiatives by providing scientific expertise and maintaining communication with external KOLs.
  • Provide training and education to internal teams, ensuring deep understanding of scientific messages.
  • Organize and analyze customer, scientific, and market information on pre-launch and marketed products.

Requirements

  • Advanced/Doctoral Degree Preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the biotech industry, preferably in cardiovascular medicine.
  • 5+ years of experience in Medical Affairs/Clinical Sciences/Medical Science Liaison preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular medicine, particularly in interventional cardiology and electrophysiology.
  • Understanding of clinical research methodologies, regulatory guidelines, and medical terminology.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with KOLs and other healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret scientific data quickly and accurately.
  • Highly self-motivated, adaptable to changing priorities and environments.
  • Must have work authorization in the EU & UK due to the focus of the role.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office.
  • Travel Requirement: 60%

Compensation

The company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. This position is eligible for an annual performance bonus based on individual and corporate performance. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion.
