Your Impact

As a Medical Research Engineer, you will play a vital role in an interdisciplinary research and development team, addressing the challenges posed by the next generation of mechanical ventilation systems. This position allows you to enhance your understanding of ventilation principles and our development tools while focusing on the creation and testing of innovative, data-driven signal processing algorithms to identify critical patient-ventilator interactions.

Collaborating closely with our engineers and clinical experts, you will support the process from application prototyping through clinical validation, all while keeping a product-oriented focus.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:

• A Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or scientific field (such as software engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, or related disciplines) or equivalent experience outside academia.
• Strong programming skills in Python and Matlab, along with demonstrated experience in various technologies and frameworks.
• Hands-on experience in software development and prototyping, including familiarity with version control systems.
• Experience with data and signal processing.
• An analytical, independent, and meticulous work style.
• A flexible, creative, and pragmatic mindset with an openness to interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Fluency in English.

Additional Skills

The following skills are advantageous:

• Experience with web development frameworks (such as Django or Flask).
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and implementation, as well as common container technologies (e.g., Docker).
• Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, particularly for app scaling and refactoring (e.g., Azure, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of database systems and associated query languages (e.g., SQL).
• Experience with data science and machine learning.
