Job Title: Medical Program Lead

The Medical Program Lead will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of medical pre-launch and launch assets, while upholding the highest scientific and ethical standards to ensure success. This position encompasses various activities including medical affairs tactics, support for scientific communications, publications, and clinical studies. Continuous support will be provided to activities and deliverables owned by the cross-functional headquarters teams, which include Marketing, Patient Access, and Community Engagement.

Key Responsibilities

The Medical Program Lead will execute the global medical strategy for the therapeutic area (TA), encompassing the following deliverables:

  • Develop and implement global medical strategy and tactical plans (pre-launch and launch)
  • Manage engagement with global Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the field
  • Provide input to clinical studies
  • Oversee internal and external medical/scientific communication and education deliverables
  • Create training materials and execute external and internal training
  • Contribute scientific input to external and internal scientific publications
  • Support cross-functional projects
  • Offer scientific insights for the development of materials driven by cross-functional teams

Qualifications

To succeed in these activities, the Medical Program Lead should:

  • Possess and continually develop a significant knowledge base in the therapeutic area
  • Establish and cultivate productive relationships with key external stakeholders
  • Build collaborative relationships within the cross-functional headquarters team, local affiliate offices, and partner organizations
  • Exemplify the highest scientific and ethical standards while adhering to relevant regulations regarding medical activities

Experience and Competencies

  • M.D. with board certification in Internal Medicine specialty
  • Over 15 years of relevant experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Certified training in the conduct of clinical trials and epidemiological studies
  • International experience working in different countries/regions
  • Extensive knowledge in the therapeutic area
  • Experience with global and regional product launches
  • Ability to engage effectively with key external stakeholders
  • Proven capability to build and execute strategic and tactical medical plans
  • Demonstrated skill in evaluating and analyzing medical/scientific literature
  • Strong presentation and communication abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Robust intercultural competencies
