About the Role

The Medical Communications Manager will serve as Takeda’s external-facing scientific communications lead for GI2 (Gastroenterology and Inflammation). This pivotal role is responsible for planning and executing medical education and omni-channel scientific communication—integrating traditional, innovative, and digital strategies. You will work in close partnership with DD&T (Digital, Data & Technology), Field Medical, and Medical Advisors to transform evidence into clear, compliant, and impactful narratives. Additionally, you will orchestrate customer journeys and utilize AI-driven analytics and advanced CRM to enhance reach, engagement, and educational outcomes.

How You Will Contribute

  • Scientific Communications Strategy: Own the GI2 medical communications plan, ensuring scientific accuracy and consistency.
  • Medical Education (MedEd): Design and deliver accredited and non-accredited MedEd initiatives to address critical educational gaps within the GI2 therapeutic area.
  • Omni-Channel Orchestration: Design scientific customer journeys and execute omni-channel campaigns (email, web, social, virtual events).
  • Content Operations & Review: Adapt/create scientific content and manage reviews in Veeva Vault or equivalent.
  • Insights & Analytics: Leverage data analytics to measure engagement and apply A/B testing.
  • Publications Support (Local): Coordinate with Medical Advisors and Global Publications on local publication needs.
  • Collaboration & Governance: Work cross-functionally to ensure timely and compliant execution of projects.
  • Vendor & Budget Management: Select and manage agencies/vendors and track budgets and timelines.
  • Compliance & Ethics: Ensure all activities adhere to Takeda-ism, SOPs, and regulatory standards.

Skills and Capabilities You Bring to the Role

  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences (PharmD/PhD/MD or MSc with equivalent experience).
  • Fluent in German or French; excellent command of English; strong scientific writing ability.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in Medical Affairs/Medical Communications; Immunology experience is an advantage.
  • Strong storytelling and health literacy skills.
  • High level of agility and teamwork; enjoyment in interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • High digital literacy: experience with OCE/campaign automation, Veeva Vault, and Microsoft 365.
  • Data literacy and proficiency in AI-driven analytics.
  • Project and vendor management skills with a focus on quality.
  • Solid knowledge of compliance frameworks for scientific/MedEd activities.
