About the Role
In the context of our product development focused on the Electric Propulsion System and Modular Battery Pack, H55 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on the various components of the system, particularly with an emphasis on the Battery Module.
Your Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Design Engineer at H55, your primary mission will be to craft cutting-edge products that are integral to our electric propulsion system. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing lightweight, manufacturing-optimized, and cost-efficient products, with a focus on the Battery Module.
- Ensuring that designs adhere to regulatory Aerospace agency rules, placing a strong emphasis on industry safety and performance standards.
- Substantiating your designs with robust engineering practices and calculations.
- Reviewing drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and other documentation necessary for manufacturing, testing, installation, and commissioning of products.
- Defining tests to guarantee the correlation and advancement of simulation models, as well as technology de-risking and validation.
- Monitoring and managing problem reports and change requests.
- Providing essential support to product production by analyzing deviation requests, among other tasks.
- Supporting suppliers by addressing technical questions within general design guidelines.
Your Profile
- A university degree complemented by 4-7 years of experience in designing and validating mechanical components and assemblies, particularly with plastics and/or composite materials.
- Experience in the mechanical design of Battery modules is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with Airworthiness Certification Specifications (e.g., EASA CS-23 or FAA Part 23) and industry standards is a plus; experience in another highly regulated domain is also acceptable.
- Proficiency in CAD programs such as Autodesk Inventor.
- Proven experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is appreciated, with mastery of the Ansys suite being an asset.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly in machining and plastic molding.
- Hands-on experience in prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.
- A motivated self-starter with a keen eye for organization and precision.
- A strong commitment to quality.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and French.
- This role may require occasional travel to our headquarters in Switzerland.
