Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Actively participate in the development of commissioning-related activities within the project schedule and program, ensuring close coordination with all facets of the project team and consideration of stakeholders' requirements.
- Review the IFC Design and produce a report regarding associated risks and opportunities.
- Develop and coordinate a commissioning tracking schedule, including all mechanical systems and their integration with electrical equipment/systems.
- Attend weekly coordination, design, integration, discipline, OFCI, and CFCI meetings, aiming to add value to all elements related to commissioning and testing activities.
- Participate in Factory Witness Testing (FWT) as required.
- Chair or co-chair a weekly commissioning management meeting with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring minutes of the meeting are recorded and circulated promptly.
- Review and comment on all technical submissions and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Review and comment on all vendor testing scripts.
- Review and comment on all commissioning-related Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Review test packs presented by subcontractors and vendors for compliance with design criteria and ensure alignment with the employer’s requirements and relevant standards.
- Witness testing and commissioning activities in the field and provide feedback.
- Monitor construction activities in collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and CSA discipline leads to identify gaps in scope and ensure project timelines are met.
- Coordinate with the Integration Team to capture natural crossovers in program and deliverables, including beneficial use areas.
- Familiarize yourself with the Mercury Way, SharePoint, EIDA, and all other project interface repositories as soon as possible; training will be provided.
- Maintain a daily diary and submit a weekly report (format to be agreed upon with the Line Manager).
- Coordinate the commissioning process and activities with CFCI and OFCI vendors throughout the project, from Level 0 to Level 5.
- Lead the project handover and turnover packs at each level of the commissioning tagging process; serve as the signatory for the Mechanical Commissioning Form in EIDA.
- Analyze functional performance logs and monitoring data to verify the performance of all systems, in conjunction with the BMS contractor for main plant systems.
- Counter-sign testing and commissioning certification.
- Conduct QAQC inspections onsite and at vendor facilities, ensuring compliance with submitted documents and company standards.
Essential Criteria for the Role:
- Degree in Engineering and at least 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer on large-scale industrial projects.
- A thorough understanding of building regulations, European standards, codes, and practices.
- Proven experience managing and executing complete Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
- Experience in developing all required IST documentation and managing completion on a digital platform.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet project deadlines and budgets.
- Outstanding communication skills at all levels, with the capacity to report to management and clients.
- Ability to produce detailed reports, presentations, and assignments of the highest quality on a regular basis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Adept at managing client and contractor vendors to ensure specifications are followed and all equipment is commissioned timely per the tagging and commissioning process.
- Ability to delegate effectively and recognize when and to whom to delegate tasks.
