YOUR PROFILE

Are you passionate about inspiring young minds and fostering a love for mathematics?

At Beau Soleil, we view mathematics as an essential tool for developing critical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. As a member of our dedicated Maths team, you'll guide students from their initial encounters with algebra in Grade 6 to the intricate challenges of IBDP Higher Level classes.

We are looking for a qualified teacher who is a fluent English speaker, ideally familiar with the IBDP curriculum, and confident in working with students from diverse backgrounds. You will possess excellent communication skills, be comfortable with technology, and build positive relationships with colleagues, students, and parents alike. Among other qualities, you should be well-organized, have a good sense of humor, and be eager to engage in extracurricular activities, including life in the boarding house.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build a strong profile for the subject within and beyond the Maths Faculty by collaborating effectively and committing to continuous improvement in student learning.
  • Develop and deploy resources to support high-quality student learning through effective teaching programs that provide exemplary learning opportunities.
  • Utilize formative and summative assessments to create challenging learning opportunities for all students, while effectively using homework and other extracurricular avenues.
  • Support the academic progress of a small group of students within one of our boarding houses.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to individual tutees.
  • Contribute to whole school learning initiatives.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant degree in Mathematics.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • Fluent English speaker.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
  • Experience being part of a highly successful department and school.
  • Demonstrable evidence of innovating and adapting curricula to engage children effectively.
  • Experience delivering a UK National Curriculum and/or the IB Diploma.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
