Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics to join our beautiful all-through 4-18 international boarding school located in the stunning Swiss Alps. If you have a passion for teaching and want to inspire students, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Main Duties

  • Teach across a range of ages and abilities, tailoring lessons to meet the diverse needs of each student.
  • Engage in the broader school community by participating in sporting events, extracurricular activities, and other enrichment initiatives.
  • Contribute to our Boarding Department, helping foster a supportive living environment.
  • Commit to personal professional development and continuously seek to enhance your teaching practice.
  • Mentor a small group of students, monitoring their progress and well-being.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the safeguarding of all students under our care.
  • Complete subject-related administration as required and take part in departmental meetings.
  • Adhere to the school's assessment and reporting guidelines, attending parents' meetings as needed.

Person Specification

  • Holds a good honours degree and/or a further degree in a related subject.
  • Commits to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.
  • Has a genuine passion for the subject and the ability to inspire students.
  • Welcomes innovations in teaching and is willing to experiment with new practices.
  • Is open to supervising students completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
  • Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Aligns with the educational vision of La Garenne International School, contributing to both co-curricular and pastoral life.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and collaborating with colleagues and school leadership.
  • Displays strong ICT skills and a willingness to embrace new technologies.
  • Maintains a positive outlook, demonstrating an optimistic approach to change and a good sense of humour.
