Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate mathematics teacher to inspire and educate academically motivated high school sophomores (ages 15-16) from diverse schools across the United States.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students in geometry, algebra II, precalculus, and calculus in small class sizes of 2-6 students.
- Conduct four classes weekly, often spanning six days a week.
- Regularly assess students through assignments, tests, and exams to monitor progress.
- Engage in communication with the sending school in the United States, typically via email.
- Implement curriculum provided by the students' home schools in the United States.
Requirements
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, at a native or C2 level.
- Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics Education.
- Master's or PhD degrees are preferred, though not required.
- Strong background in teaching various levels of secondary school mathematics.
- Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) math curriculum and the U.S. curriculum is advantageous.
- Ability to teach Calculus Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum.
- Advisory duties for 4-5 students.
- Outdoor experience such as hiking, climbing, biking, and skiing is preferred but not mandatory.
