Job Description
We are seeking a passionate Mathematics Teacher to inspire and educate academically motivated high school sophomores (ages 15-16) from various schools across the United States. This role requires a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and the ability to engage students in a dynamic learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach geometry, Algebra II, precalculus, and calculus, accommodating class sizes of 2-6 students.
- Conduct four classes, often over six days a week.
- Regularly assess students through assignments, tests, and exams to gauge their understanding and progress.
- Communicate effectively with sending schools in the United States, primarily via email.
- Utilize curricula provided by students' home schools to customize learning experiences.
Requirements
- Native or C2-level proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Bachelor of Arts in mathematics education or a related field.
- Master's or PhD degrees are preferred but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated strong teaching experience in various levels of secondary school mathematics.
- Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) mathematics curriculum and the US curriculum is advantageous.
- Ability to teach AP Calculus curriculum effectively.
- Serve as an advisor to 4-5 students.
- Outdoor experience such as hiking, climbing, biking, and skiing is preferred but not required.
