Materials Control Technician - Contract - Acton, MA

Primary Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely transfer of components between the warehouse and cleanroom, adhering to standard operating procedures and quality system requirements. This position operates during core business hours and involves 12-hour shifts, with flexibility required based on business needs.
Skills & Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, and/or equivalent combination of education or experience.
- Minimum Requirements: No previous experience required; training will be provided.
- Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Experience in a warehouse or material handling environment.
- Proficiency in the English language to effectively read documentation, follow work instructions, and communicate.
- A keen eye for quality, demonstrating attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate within a team while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Highly motivated, proactive problem solver, and a self-starter who can work both independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and transfer loads of 30-50 lbs.
- Ability to operate manual pallet jacks.
- Must be able to stand and bend for up to 12 hours a day.
- Frequent overhead lifting and occasional lifting below the waist.
- Familiarity with ergonomic lifting techniques is preferred.
Responsibilities of the Materials Control Technician
- Ensure safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies to minimize risks.
- Complete all assigned QMS training and stay up-to-date before performing any tasks.
- Operate systems and equipment such as computers, software, and printers as trained and specified.
- Utilize warehouse equipment, including manual pallet jacks for pallet movement and Plastic Baler.
- Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean, orderly, and functional condition.
- Replenish the Material Control Room and prepare components for transfer to the cleanroom based on the Kanban System.
- Accurate and timely transaction of any material movement in the ERP System (SAP) to support the Kanban System.
- Respond promptly to communications via handheld portable two-way radio transceiver.
- Perform proper End of Shift tasks, including emptying all trash bins and accurately packaging empty trays.
- Execute other duties as needed.
