Marketing Director / Marketing Directress

Rippling Switzerland GmbH - March 1, 2026

Marketing Director

BFL's founding team invented Latent Diffusion and built FLUX into models with over 400 million downloads, securing enterprise partnerships with Meta and achieving significant ARR faster than almost any company in history. We are at an inflection point where frontier AI research meets massive market opportunity, and we aspire to lead that narrative.

With world-class frontier models and strong enterprise traction, we are seeking a marketing leader who will develop a comprehensive content engine, enhance our community presence, and create brand experiences that establish BFL as the leader in visual AI.

Why This Role Matters

BFL competes with giants like Google and OpenAI, yet most people remain unaware of our existence. We rely on partner channels for our outreach, while our own X, YouTube, and blog underperform. Despite our remarkable origin story, we currently lack the systematic content, community engagement, and brand presence necessary to share it at scale.

You will take ownership of our marketing narrative—crafting thought leadership content that positions our founders as pioneers, developing a social strategy that builds a dedicated audience, and creating events and experiences that foster community momentum.

This Role Exists To:

  • Establish BFL as the clear leader in visual AI through a cohesive and consistent brand narrative.
  • Build a repeatable content and community engine that drives developer adoption and enterprise demand.
  • Grow our owned audience to reduce reliance on partner channels for outreach.

What You'll Do

Manage brand, content, social, events, and communications to position BFL as the definitive authority in visual AI.

Content & Thought Leadership

  • Develop a systematic content engine, including educational guides, use case libraries, technical blog collaboration, and customer case studies.
  • Position our founding team as visual AI pioneers through bylines, podcasts, conference talks, and media features.
  • Create a "Visual AI use case library" that addresses practical application challenges and illustrates potential builds with FLUX.
  • Establish the BFL blog as a must-read destination for visual AI developers and enterprises.

Social & Owned Channels

  • Enhance BFL's X, YouTube, and LinkedIn presence to achieve competitive outreach.
  • Create a content calendar featuring bi-weekly educational series, monthly highlights, and ongoing engagement activities.
  • Foster an engaged developer community via a systematic social presence, going beyond launch spikes.
  • Develop a "Built with FLUX" showcase program with social amplification.

Events & Community Experiences

  • Design and implement memorable brand activations at conferences and industry events.
  • Create community events (both online and offline) that drive API adoption and FLUX usage.
  • Build a presence at US and EU events through meetups, demos, and creator showcases.

Communications & PR

  • Collaborate on messaging and narratives for product launches, funding announcements, and major milestones.
  • Support media preparation and press materials by crafting compelling content and storytelling.
  • Develop talking points and narrative frameworks that translate technical breakthroughs into market stories.

Brand Strategy & Narrative

  • Lead BFL's market positioning strategy: identifying what category we should win and how to stand apart from competitors.
  • Develop brand guidelines, voice principles, and messaging frameworks in collaboration with leadership.
  • Define and track brand health metrics such as awareness, consideration, and preference.

You Might Be a Fit If You Bring...

Foundation

  • 5+ years in marketing leadership at high-growth tech companies, ideally in developer tools, infrastructure, or AI/ML.
  • A proven track record of building marketing functions from the ground up.
  • Experience in content, social, events, and communications—possessing a generalist skillset to build a full marketing stack.
  • Strong storytelling ability—capable of simplifying complex technology into compelling narratives.
  • Proven success in building owned audiences.

Content, Creative & Community Fluency

  • Strong creative direction and visual sense—able to art direct engaging content, brief designers, and create attention-grabbing posts that showcase FLUX capabilities.
  • Experience developing systematic content engines rather than one-off campaigns.
  • Solid understanding of developer communities and how to authentically engage technical audiences.
  • Event production experience, including hackathons, conferences, community meetups, and brand activations.
  • A history of transforming technical founders into thought leaders.

Execution & Leadership

  • Comfortable building from the ground up with minimal resources—initially hands-on, evolving into team leadership over time.
  • A data-driven approach to measuring content performance, social reach, and brand impact.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of coordinating complex launches across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with technical teams to translate research breakthroughs into market opportunities.
  • A low ego, high ownership approach—motivated by building something exceptional rather than titles or hierarchy.

What Success Looks Like After 6 Months

  • BFL is recognized as a leading visual AI company, significantly narrowing the perception gap compared to competitors like Google and OpenAI.
  • We have created unique brand experiences that resonate with our audience; our events, campaigns, and content are distinctly BFL and memorable.
  • The content engine is fully operational, with the BFL blog publishing 8-10 pieces per month including educational content, case studies, and technical posts.
  • Our owned audience is expanding, reflecting measurable growth in followers, engagement, and community involvement, including the launch of the "Built with FLUX" showcase program.
  • High-impact brand experiences have been successfully executed, alongside community competitions that demonstrate measurable API conversion, with events established across the US and Europe.
  • Our market positioning is clear, with an adopted internal strategy and established messaging frameworks for sales, partnerships, and communications.
  • Leadership visibility has increased with secured media placements, speaking engagements, and published thought leadership in target outlets.
  • At least one creative marketing campaign has been executed, showcasing FLUX capabilities and enhancing brand awareness.
  • A regular collaboration rhythm with the communications and PR team is established to support narrative development for launches and announcements.
  • You've developed a clear roadmap for scaling the function, identifying in-house versus agency support, future hiring needs, and impact assessment metrics.
