Marketing Director

BFL's founding team invented Latent Diffusion and developed FLUX into models with over 400M downloads, securing enterprise partnerships with Meta and achieving significant Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) at an unprecedented pace. We are now at the intersection of groundbreaking AI research and immense market opportunities, and we aim to lead that narrative.

With our world-class models and strong enterprise traction, we are in search of a marketing leader who can cultivate a robust content engine, enhance our community presence, and create unforgettable brand experiences that establish BFL as the definitive leader in visual AI.

Why This Role Matters

BFL is competing against industry giants like Google, OpenAI, and other major players in AI; however, many people are still unaware of our presence. While we depend on partner channels for our reach, our own social media platforms, including X and YouTube, along with our blog, are not performing to their potential. Despite having a remarkable origin story, we lack the systematic content, community engagement, and brand presence needed to effectively share it.

In this role, you will take ownership of our marketing narrative—creating thought leadership content that showcases our founders as pioneers, developing social strategies that cultivate our audience, and orchestrating events and experiences that generate community momentum.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop brand, content, social media strategies, and communications to establish BFL as the leading authority in visual AI.

Content & Thought Leadership

  • Create a systematic content engine: educational guides, use case libraries, technical blog posts, and customer case studies.
  • Position the founding team as pioneers in visual AI through bylines, podcasts, conference talks, and media features.
  • Develop a "Visual AI use case library" that addresses practical applications and demonstrates what can be built with FLUX.
  • Establish the BFL blog as a must-read destination for developers and enterprises in visual AI.

Social & Owned Channels

  • Enhance BFL's presence on X, YouTube, and LinkedIn to drive competitive reach.
  • Create a content calendar featuring bi-weekly educational series, monthly spotlights, and ongoing engagement strategies.
  • Build an engaged developer community through a consistent social media presence.
  • Develop a "Built with FLUX" showcase program complemented by social amplification.

Events & Community Experiences

  • Design and execute memorable brand activations at conferences and industry events.
  • Create community-driven events—both online and offline—that promote API adoption and usage of FLUX.
  • Establish a presence in the US and EU through meetups, demonstrations, and showcases for creators.

Communications & PR

  • Work in collaboration on messaging and narrative development for product launches, funding announcements, and key milestones.
  • Support media preparation and press material creation with engaging content and storytelling.
  • Formulate talking points and narrative frameworks that translate technical breakthroughs into marketable stories.

Brand Strategy & Narrative

  • Lead BFL's market positioning strategy and differentiation from competitors.
  • Develop brand guidelines, voice principles, and messaging frameworks in line with leadership input.
  • Define and monitor brand health metrics, including awareness, consideration, and preference.

You Might Be a Fit If You Bring

  • 5+ years of marketing leadership experience at high-growth tech companies, particularly in developer tools, infrastructure, or AI/ML.
  • A proven track record of building marketing functions from the ground up.
  • A broad experience across content, social media, events, and communications—supporting a full marketing spectrum.
  • Strong storytelling skills that translate complex technology into compelling narratives.
  • Demonstrable success in building owned audiences.
  • Creative direction proficiency and visual acuity to guide compelling content creation.
  • Experience producing systematic content engines rather than one-off campaigns.
  • A solid understanding of developer communities and engagement strategies for technical audiences.
  • Event production experience, including hackathons and brand activations.
  • A background in transforming technical founders into thought leaders.
  • A hands-on approach to building from the ground up, beginning with minimal resources.
  • A data-driven mindset to assess content performance, social outreach, and brand impact.
  • Exceptional project management abilities to coordinate complex launches across diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in collaboration with technical teams to convert research breakthroughs into market opportunities.
  • A low-ego, high-ownership attitude focused on building something remarkable.

  • BFL is perceived as a visual AI category leader, not merely a research lab, with a competitive brand presence similar to that of Google and OpenAI.
  • Experiences created under the BFL brand are memorable, unique, and resonate within the market, educating customers on the true capabilities of visual AI.
  • A functioning content engine with the BFL blog publishing 8-10 pieces per month, including educational content, case studies, and technical insights.
  • Measurable growth in followers, engagement, and community participation across all channels, with a "Built with FLUX" showcase program launched.
  • High-impact brand experiences executed with significant audience engagement, including community competitions leading to increased API adoption.
  • A clear and adopted market positioning strategy with established messaging frameworks for sales and partnerships.
  • Increased media visibility for leadership through secured placements, speaking engagements, and published thought leadership.
  • At least one innovative marketing campaign launched to showcase FLUX capabilities and enhance brand awareness.
  • A regular collaborative rhythm with the communications team to develop narratives for launches and announcements.
