Job Title: Marketing Director, EU
The Marketing Director, EU, will be instrumental in developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the Global/US strategic platform. This role aims to enhance awareness, adoption, and growth of current and future Acadia pharmaceutical therapies across Europe and other designated geographies. The successful candidate will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of launch readiness plans while supporting medical-legal-regulatory reviews and fostering collaboration across functions to achieve launch readiness. As a key member of the global marketing team, this position will contribute valuable marketing insights to influence overall marketing and commercial strategy group decisions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and industry partners.
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional Brand team to ensure alignment with overall business goals and strategies.
- Oversee the development and coordination of internal and external resources to select and execute compliant and revenue-generating advertising and sales promotional campaigns.
- Develop communications that keep internal senior leaders and executive teams informed about progress, key decisions, issues, and overall launch readiness, including updates for QBRs and Board preparation.
- Develop and implement regional marketing plans for launches and brands to achieve company objectives, collaborating closely with cross-functional brand teams, particularly Market Access and Medical.
- Conduct market research and analysis in collaboration with the Global Analytics team to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in target markets.
- Interpret and translate scientific clinical data into commercial implications that may affect labeling and advertising.
- Monitor competitive activities related to launch indications and identify opportunities for the brand.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and regulatory issues that may impact marketing strategies.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in strategic marketing within a global or multinational organization, ideally in biotech or pharmaceutical sectors with a focus on rare diseases.
- Strong program and project management skills.
- Deep analytical skills with the capability to interpret market data and develop actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Full proficiency in marketing assessment tools and software, including CRM systems, analytics platforms, and project management tools.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a successful track record in managing cross-functional teams and people leadership.
- Resilience and adaptability to deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment amidst changing market conditions.
- Knowledge of international business practices in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, coupled with intercultural intelligence.
- Proactive approach to removing barriers that may hinder results.
- Experience representing an organization to both internal and external groups, acting as a company ambassador.
- Solid understanding and positive history of adhering to industry compliance standards.
- Holistic thinking to drive efforts across functions and stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and German; additional languages spoken in the Eurozone such as Swiss German, French, Italian, or Spanish are advantageous.
- Willingness to travel both within Europe and internationally.
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in pharmaceutical or related marketing, including team development, product launches, branding, market research, and risk assessment.
- Experience with launch processes for rare diseases is considered an advantage.
